Built to bring clarity to supplemental income decisions
Theyellow exists because deciding where to put extra time, money, or effort shouldn't rely on guesswork. We build tools that help people reason through options with data instead of hype.
Our Story
Why Theyellow was started
Theyellow started from a simple frustration: most people weighing supplemental income opportunities have to piece together spreadsheets, forum threads, and conflicting advice just to get a basic read on risk and viability. We set out to build a single, structured way to run that analysis — one that treats every input seriously and doesn't dress up uncertainty as certainty.
What began as an internal modelling tool for a small group of analysts has grown into a platform built for anyone trying to make a more informed call before committing time or capital.
We don't sell outcomes. We help structure the thinking that leads to better decisions.
Our Mission
Make decision-support, not promises
Our mission is narrow and deliberate: give people a clearer, more adaptive view of the trade-offs involved in supplemental income activity, based on real-time data and risk modelling — not sales pitches. We're not in the business of guaranteeing results. We're in the business of helping you ask better questions and interpret the answers with more confidence.
What We Value
The principles behind how we build
Honesty over polish
We'd rather show an uncertain or unfavourable result clearly than smooth it over to look more encouraging. Trust comes from accuracy, not optimism.
Principle 01
Adaptive, not static
Markets and circumstances change. Our models are designed to update with new data rather than lock in assumptions from day one.
Principle 02
The user decides
We provide structured analysis and context. We never position our output as financial advice or a substitute for independent judgement.
Principle 03
Our Team
How we're organised
Analysts and builders, working together
Theyellow is run by a small, focused team split between data analysis and product development. Analysts define how risk factors should be weighted and interpreted; the product side turns that logic into tools that are actually usable day to day. We keep the two sides close, so the platform reflects current thinking rather than a model that was finalised once and left alone.
Shared review, not solo calls
Changes to how the platform scores or presents an opportunity go through internal review before release. We'd rather move carefully on the logic that underpins people's decisions than ship quickly and fix it later.
Built to keep evolving
As we learn more about how people actually use the platform — and as the data available to us improves — the team's priority is refining the models and interface, not adding features for their own sake.
